Introduction

It is important that our lesson programs and any other lesson service we provide, serves the needs of the members – we must offer to our customers a combination of what they want and what we as leaders in the game believe to be what they need.  It is our responsibility in the position we hold to do this and to be flexible enough that we are able to adapt to evolving changes to what they need.

It is my belief that we have been doing this to the best of our ability, to a degree of excellence and professionalism that would be expected of a golf academy that strives to be the best.

Over the 10 years Phil has taught at NSRCC, he has developed a deeper knowledge and respect for the general demographics of the membership base, which is predominantly our customer base.  Having this helps us in the formation and creation of our lesson programs and appropriate lesson fees.  Without it, the Golf Academy risks pricing itself out of the market and with the rising rent, ultimate closure.  This is why we find no reason, as an Academy to try to profiteer nor do we believe it to be in the Club’s best interests to either – there has to be a fair balance on all sides.  The member deserves good and fair rates for the service provided, the Academy deserves to be appropriately remunerated for these services and the Club deserves to collect a fair rental.  Having a continuity of teachers is very important, as it takes time to develop the trust and faith present in good relationships with their students.

Typically we are looking at young families, with new members signing up all the time since it is by nature a term membership versus traditional Club membership owners) and therefore generally a steady flow of new students – this is what we are fundamentally dealing with at NSRCC.  The more seasoned golfer at NSRCC has in the past (again, generally speaking here) kept clear of lessons and utilized the facilities at the Club more for playing with their regular kaki, entertaining friends, clients, maybe using the bungalows for family holidays.  Sure we get some who wish to raise the level of their game to a new high but the majority, just want to play golf.  Well, it is our dream to offer such good services to our customers, that the average seasoned golfer (NSRCC members) will want to get some of that service because it is the best in the country…it is like the service they see on The Golf Channel that top line Academies in the United States provide.
